The instructor comes over and gently reminds them that one pair of hands need to be joined and held in front rather than both of them holding onto each other. The tips of his ears turn red, and he immediately lets go of Will's waist. ]

He very gingerly puts one hand back on Will's hip (barely) and laces his fingers together with Will's with the other. ]

[he looks over at the instructor, who lifts their arms and mimes the steps the two are expected to take together. a simple, four-step waltz, to start]

[ This is the most uncertain he's been all competition!! Steve tries to copy what the instructor is doing - carefully, so as not to step on Will's feet. Fortunately, he's fairly coordinated, despite his blustery attitude, and this isn't all that complicated, so Will's feet remain uncrushed as Steve moves forward. ]
