week two | dates
You worked up your courage and asked someone out on a date! Good job!
Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.
Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.
asa & anna
Asa and Anna are brought to a very mysteriously... normal looking building inside a mall.
... But! Once they get inside, it becomes clear that it's a fairy tale themed escape room. The puzzles are tricky, but not impossible, and the vibes are immaculate for a spooky but beautiful fairy forest.
You've got an hour: good luck!
Highlights:
- but also you are stuck together now
- if you win, they take a picture of you together and hang it up on the victor's wall. Hooray!

knows she is the last person mitaka wants to see, for reasons that are unknown at the moment, but that's what this! is for! and sure, maybe it took some strong arming or deceit for the other girl to show, but that's. fine.
anna's outfit is in this style, but she's rocking a light blue instead of the pink palette... ]
Wow... Talk about impressive. Don't lag behind, okay? We've only got an hour and I'm competetive.
[ ...
she's talking to her, so. isn't that an improvement. ]

Anyway she's wearing the only date outfit she brought with her. The jacket is probably brown and boring like her, but she's gone with the hairpin this time. Not making the same mistake twice! ]
I'll try not to hold you back. [ ... ] Um, thanks for inviting me out. I was starting to feel pretty cooped up in the house.
[ Read: having to constantly Interact with people was fucking her up. ]

the ever emotional anna yanami hears "thanks" and tears sting at the corner of her eyes, throat tight as she clenches her fists. she'd told tsukasa, fondly, that mii-chan wasn't honest at all about her feelings, and that's why she'd wanted something arranged, but now she's being thrown. surely after last week she'd have more of a cold approach to anna, not. thanks. ]
Uh... huh, um. Yeah. No problem.
[ she brings her hands in front of her to play with her sleeve, walking into the first room. it's some puzzle about matching colors and sounds to the fairy houses and their flowers. anna really doesn't care. it's simple enough. ]
I think one's hidden. Or something.
no subject
It's fine. Now that they're here, she's determined to get through this without crying. ]
I'll look. [ She says quickly, taking the chance to turn her back without it being rude. A tiny bit of privacy for them both while she pokes and prods at the decorations for anything out of place. ] Have you beaten one of these before? You seem confident.
[ Then again, Anna seems confident all the time. Almost all the time. When certain people aren't saying horrible things to her. Yet another person Asa wishes she could be more like... if they'd stayed friends, she might have had the chance. ]

[ it
sure isn't but that's fine... anna'll take care of the obvious ones. ]
I've always wanted to go to one though. They always look so fun, even if it's kinda like M*rio P*rty. You know, test the limits of your friendships and all.
[ this is being edited out this show CANNOT handle a nintendo lawsuit. ]

[ not Asa though. she has a high IQ :/
also mario party came out in december 1998 and she's from march 1998, i've never been more disappointed in a canon timeline. who cares if mario is having a party... it's not like she'd be invited anyway... :/ :/ ]
I think we've had enough testing already. [ That. Came out bad. She winces at herself, glad she can't see Anna's face right now. ] ... Let's just solve this. We still have the scavenger hunt to worry about.
no subject
and yeah, she frowns at that, playing with a little fairy doll before she turns on mitaka with a sharp inhale-- ]
Why would I get hurt?
no subject
It's what always happens, okay? My mom died because of me, and Crambon, and Yuko, and I'm just — I'm tired of it! But I'm still selfish enough to want friends! It's disgusting!
no subject
[ she's shouting too now. this happens all the time in escape rooms. ]
So let me, dammit! I wanna be your friend!
no subject
[ Ugly tears time... ]
no subject
[ girl!!! ]
no subject
[ What if she wants to stay friends... 4ever... ]
no subject
[ who's been dumped, hurt before. anna's face contorts in pain. ]
I don't wanna be rejected again.
no subject
[ Can she hug her... she's gonna hug her. ]
I promise... I'll explain everything when I can. [ If she can. ] But for now, let's solve this puzzle! I want our picture up on that wall!
no subject
I want it too! Let's do it!
[ buddy they got like four braincells between them and the fairies are only the first part of this room. there's gnomes and shit too. drink from the tea cup. mushroom circles. all that shit. ]
Hm... I don't get it. The only fairy I know is a shoulder one.
no subject
Asa's looking around with Renewed Vigor, putting her half of the braincells to good use. She knows the final clue they need is in a locked book of fairytales near the exit... and she also knows they have approximately zero chance of solving all the puzzles in time to open it the proper way.
Frowning, she picks the book up and turns it over in her hands. She can't do anything about the lock, but the leather strap holding it shut might be a different matter. With a sharp enough knife... ]
... I have an idea, but I'm gonna need your help. Think you can block the cameras from seeing me for a few seconds?
no subject
[ since one of them's got an idea, why not. anna side glances to see where the camera folk are before casually stepping in the way, brows furrowed as she peers at some kind of furry creature. it's cute. she has no idea what it is. she wishes she could take a picture of it and ask will, who might know, since he's from some version of britian, and they have fairies there.
but also she wants to see what mii-chan does so she'll be peeking too. ]
no subject
A few seconds of what she hopes aren't totally obvious cutting motions follow, before: ]
Oh! It opened! [ Hastily hiding the knife inside her jacket sleeve as she reads the first page... ] It says we need to stand in front of the big wooden door and say: "and they both lived happily ever after!" Let's go!
[ Tossing the book somewhere it can't be immediately inspected and offering her spare hand to Anna, come on bestie— ]
no subject
Kinda lame, but okay!
[ to the wooden door...!!!! ]
On the count of three, Mii-chan. One, two...
[ they'll say it together..!!!!
please don't be a second late oh my god ]
no subject
And they both lived happily ever after! [ Normally she'd be right there calling it lame, but for some reason, she feels ecstatic instead. Some of it is the adrenaline from the rollercoaster of emotions she's been through today, but a lot of it is just... happiness. The happiness of feeling like a normal teenage girl. Like maybe life isn't so bad, if it has moments like this.
The door opens with a sudden flash! as their picture gets taken right at the big moment of success. Asa knows she looks like a sweaty, tear-stained mess, but she doesn't care about that right now. She didn't fall or make a fool of herself... they won! ] We did it! We really did it! This was the best date ever!
[ The only competition it has is the time she nearly starved to death in an aquarium but. It's fine. Anna doesn't know that. ]
no subject
Right?! And we've got the photo to prove it!!! Hey, can we get a copy to take back too?
[ ... yeah sure why not-- ]
We can put it on the wall for everyone to see, Mii-chan, and they'll know we're the greatest, smartest, most beautiful girls in the whole wide world!!!
