[ She glances over her shoulder once to make sure Anna has her covered, then inhales. It's hard to see what she's doing with her back turned, but she reaches up to take out her hairclip, then mutters hairclip pocket knife under her breath. Anna might overhear, but all that matters is that the cameras (and the people with them) don't.

A few seconds of what she hopes aren't totally obvious cutting motions follow, before: ]

Oh! It opened! [ Hastily hiding the knife inside her jacket sleeve as she reads the first page... ] It says we need to stand in front of the big wooden door and say: "and they both lived happily ever after!" Let's go!

[ Tossing the book somewhere it can't be immediately inspected and offering her spare hand to Anna, come on bestie— ]

[ oh!!! okay, well, maybe she's actually super smart and totally brute forced it somehow, that's her girl??? anna'll take her hand. ]

Kinda lame, but okay!

[ Anna your delulu powers... anyway Asa's squeezing her hand as she counts down by way of confirmation. One, two: ]

And they both lived happily ever after! [ Normally she'd be right there calling it lame, but for some reason, she feels ecstatic instead. Some of it is the adrenaline from the rollercoaster of emotions she's been through today, but a lot of it is just... happiness. The happiness of feeling like a normal teenage girl. Like maybe life isn't so bad, if it has moments like this.

The door opens with a sudden flash! as their picture gets taken right at the big moment of success. Asa knows she looks like a sweaty, tear-stained mess, but she doesn't care about that right now. She didn't fall or make a fool of herself... they won! ] We did it! We really did it! This was the best date ever!

[ The only competition it has is the time she nearly starved to death in an aquarium but. It's fine. Anna doesn't know that. ]
