Of course, that would have been nice! [She had also been kind of expecting it, just because she'd explicitly asked about connecting with her perfect match. Kat grabs the sweet Lessing pushes in her direction and starts mowing it down, using the pause to reflect on her circumstances. What's that saying? Always the bridesmaid...? Sometimes Kat wonders if that's what her love life is supposed to be like.

Treat successfully hoovered, she starts looking around for a drink to split with him, pouring out something that looks like sparkling lemonade into two distinct glasses.]

I think Minami was probably just leading me on, anyway... but the way it worked out was kind of perfect! You know, seeing how happy they were [yes, she is counting Wednesday as happy] made it all worth it! Don't you think?

[ Wednesday, the one person who manages to make Lessing look like a ray of sunshine here, but he won't argue with her on that one, even if Wednesday looked more surprised than anything by the results. She didn't seem outright displeased, so that's good enough, right?

Ryuji, at least, seemed beside himself with excitement, so that's a good enough win. ]

It seemed like it worked out pretty well.

But that doesn't mean you can't still want to figure out who yours is next.

[Trust her! Wednesday was totally happy!

Kat's busy trying to figure out what foods Lessing is most interested in - what, doesn't he like sweet things? How is that possible? - but at his final question, she pauses and sets the plate she's holding down on the blanket. Her glance turns to the sky.]

Maybe it's kinda silly, but I think I'd wanna be matched with someone who likes me for... well, for me. Doesn't every girl look for someone who can charm her off her feet?

[As one of the few people here with love as important a motivator as securing her wish, Kat's been pretty earnest about discovering true feelings and connections from the start. And despite that... it hasn't been nearly as easy as she thought it would be. She's realizing just how foggy and nonspecific her dream person might have been all alone.]

I... well, I can get distracted when someone cute compliments me or when I think about finding romance. The past couple of times I've gotten a crush on someone who was nice to me, they actually were just somebody who needed my help...

[ There are all types of people in the world, Kat, and some of those people will reach for a piece of very normal looking cheese to chew over as she tells her story instead of any of the delicious looking pastries.

Her story is a little hard to relate to for Lessing. It sounds like she's someone who is coming here with her heart open, who develops feelings quickly and without much pushing. It's not something he can say he's really capable of himself, though he can at least appreciate the largest want on her part.

Though thinking of the other contestants........

Is there anyone that's going to be capable of charming her off of her feet? ]
