Dorothea and Kat are instructed to wear good outdoorsey clothing, given some backpacks with water and sunscreen and other necessities, and set loose on a hiking trail.

It is, admittedly, very beautiful! Lush foliage, the bright gleam of the ocean in the distance, and the peace and quiet of a little-known hike.

Enjoy!

Highlights:

- If you make it to the end, there's even one of those cliff diving spots
- lots and lots of flowers and neat plants!

Wow, what a view!

[Kat had to get some good outdoorsy clothing from production, but she looks like she belongs in it by the time they roll up for the hike. There's something chameleon-like about her style, like someone who's used to getting crammed into a couple of different uniforms for various reasons. Her long blonde hair is pulled into a ponytail through the hole in a baseball cap. She looks like a Jock with a capital J.]

Hm... Okay, no cheating! [Yet. No cheating yet. If things get dicey, what's wrong with shifting a little gravity on the way to those picturesque views?] Let's see if we can make it all the way to the cliff!

[Dorothea being Dorothea, her own clothing lands somewhere on the more stylish end of the hiking-appropriate spectrum. But at least she’s still ready for what lies ahead of them in that regard, even if she hasn’t quite realized just how long of a journey they’ve got ahead of them.

At least not until Kat issues her challenge. She looks on at the cliffs in the distance, appearing thoughtful.]

Well, the view must certainly be gorgeous up there… [They’ll just have to give it a go! Then, glancing Kat’s way:] How does one cheat on a hike, anyway?

Well... I could probably get us to the end faster if I could alter gravity, but some things deserve to be done the old-fashioned way!

[Her powers have become an easy go-to for problem-solving, from things as mundane as decorating her home to helping people cross the street to saving the world. It's almost as natural as moving to Kat now. Despite all that, it just feels like it would be a shame to rush through time she wants to spend with someone.]

... Besides, we might run into some trees... or some rocks... [She perks back up.] But the option is there!

[And it would probably be fine! They'll just have to see how the hike goes!]

Altering gravity? [A little bit of a surprised blink—she’s missed hearing about that little trick so far.] I didn’t realize that was possible…

[And she’s not entirely sure she fully understands what it might entail, but based on what Kat’s said, she’s at least got an inkling. And she’s almost certain she might have the opportunity to learn if the hike to the cliffs is really as long as it looks.

But! That just means it’s best to get started.]

I guess it’s good to have that in our back pocket then. But you’re right, we should enjoy the view the old-fashioned way first at least.

Yeah, you'd be surprised how handy a power like that comes in for everyday activities! ... And helping other people when they have a problem that needs solving.

[Even though she doesn't say as much out loud, Dorothea might be able to suss out that Kat gets called to complete a fair amount of sidequests just from the way she describes it.]

I get the feeling it's going to be worth it... you don't see something like this every day. [Or really ever, in her case. Hekseville is much different in its landscape than anywhere she's been while taking part in this show.

So bright, so full of hope, she points off down the path so they can begin walking.] What do you like the most about the outdoors, Dorothea?

[Yep, Dorothea is making a mental note that it sounds like Kat is the sort who goes out of her way to help others. Points for her already!]

For me… I suppose I really love the beauty of it. Until recently, I’ve spent pretty much my whole life within the city, so something like this is such a nice change of pace.

[And here it’s much different than an Academy-mandated mission with the Knights. The two of them can go at their own pace, and are here purely for the enjoyment of it.]

We’ll have to see how well I hold up on a hike like this. [A little laugh.] Try not to leave me behind, will you?
