Welcome to week two, Teens Who Are Definitely Searching for Love!

Hopefully everyone got a lot of rest over the weekend, and are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the upcoming week, because there are a few things of interest this week.

But first, some changes of note in the house!

First: there is a giant rectangular box on the living room table, addressed to Lessing. It is a care package. The only thing in it is his sword.

There is some Bauernbrot bread on the counter. Ask Lessing about that too.

There is now a hot tub near the pool. It’s large enough to seat about six teens comfortably, but you can get more in there if you really try for some reason.

Okay I think that’s everything. Additionally, Tsukasa is here early this week! He’s looking pretty perky, seemingly recovered from the Match Ceremony, and he’s got some interesting info to share with everyone.

Dorothea and I were talking about people being put together because their wishes align. Maybe there's someone whose wish is like yours.

For what it's worth... [And he mulls it over a little, resting his chin on his palm in turn. He doesn't want anyone getting any ideas. But it's worth saying...] I might not pick you but you are alright in my book in comparison to a number of others.

Uh... thanks? [She's having a little trouble sussing out whether this is a neg or a compliment; nobody likes to be told they won't be chosen, but "alright" is basically full marks across the board from him.]

I didn't think you should go alone. If you're trapped in a miserable place and would be happier breaking free, even if it ends up hurting you... well, I think you're still happier getting out.

[He gives her a long hard look, weighing what she said to him and if he hates it or finds it acceptable. It's... acceptable. More or less. He can agree that it's best to break free from a cage even if it means you have to go through a patch of brambles. Wounds will heal but cages can feel like forever. They can be forever.

And, again, she didn't just let him jump alone. And fought against them going at his original decline. Kat gets pushed into the small pile of people he has decided are alright.]

Next week... If you want to go again, hopefully not a boat, I'll tell you why that cruise ship wasn't going to fly. And maybe we can get into trouble again. Who knows.

[Even if the world ended outside the cage, knowing was better than nothing. It was better than never having tried at all. That's why it wouldn't have just worked to stay on the ship, either.

She can't let him stop the others from finding what they're looking for, if that's what he sets his mind to... if that happens, Kat knows she'll have to oppose him. But there are things she still doesn't understand. Maybe he's too far gone. But maybe there's a kid in there who hoped someone still would have tried.]

Okay, then it's a date! I hope we don't end up going for another swim.

Me either... What do you like to do? Maybe we can strong arm our way into something that doesn't suck or cause PTSD.

I was never really afforded the opportunity to do a lot of "teenager things" but maybe a we could go see a show or something.

[What do normal teenagers do...? Go to concerts. The arcade. Cheap places to eat. They'll think of something.]

[She agrees, though the way she says it might make it clear...her experience in doing those normal teenager things is also a little limited, though likely for different reasons from him.]

We could go to a shopping district for gourmet, or have a picnic under the stars, or maybe we could go to one of those places where you eat food and play games for prizes...

[She likes food, if he couldn't tell, though she isn't intentionally picking food-related activities here, either.

I've only been to an arcade once before but I found it pretty interesting though it wasn't one where you won prizes with your tickets. That should be pretty fun, yeah?

[Fun is subjective, of course. But he didn't have a bad time with Joker. They can gather up their tickets and maybe win her something. That line Asa shot at Kat really rankled him and now he feels the small spark of protectiveness. And the people that say and defend crap like that are the worst types and he isn't here for it.

Winning her a stuffed animal isn't going to fix anything or stop people from making out of pocket assumptions but... It might help the sting.]

Alright... We'll make a day of it.
