week two | mingle
Welcome to week two, Teens Who Are Definitely Searching for Love!
Hopefully everyone got a lot of rest over the weekend, and are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the upcoming week, because there are a few things of interest this week.
But first, some changes of note in the house!
First: there is a giant rectangular box on the living room table, addressed to Lessing. It is a care package. The only thing in it is his sword.
There is some Bauernbrot bread on the counter. Ask Lessing about that too.
There is now a hot tub near the pool. It’s large enough to seat about six teens comfortably, but you can get more in there if you really try for some reason.
Okay I think that’s everything. Additionally, Tsukasa is here early this week! He’s looking pretty perky, seemingly recovered from the Match Ceremony, and he’s got some interesting info to share with everyone.

ii.
[Will's reflexes are fast; he moves quickly, kicking at the ground as he LAUNCHES HIMSELF AT FOU]
[and tries to catch him like a receiver going after a stray football]
no subject
Good catch!!
no subject
[anyway, he holds up the fluffy (wet) creature like a trophy]
Thanks. . .!
[wait. . .]
Is this guy yours?
no subject
[ This dripping, sullen creature. ]
no subject
He came with you, then? Like Kat's cat companion?
no subject
That's right! He tends to do that a lot.
This is Fou!
[ "Fouuuuuuuu..." ]
no subject
[it's such an earnest greeting, and Will reaches out to give the cute creature a hearty scratch behind the ears]
I'm Will. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
And huffs, a little. Someone's grumpy. ]
... He warms up with time.
no subject
It's okay. I understand.
[directing his smile at Fou]
But we'll be friends in no time.
[is that a threat]
no subject
Well, you heard him.
[ Fou huffs again. Louder. ]
Actually, while I have you here, wanna try that scavenger hunt thing?
no subject
[TIME TO. . . take off his wet gloves and then dig his list out of his pocket]
What does your list look like?
no subject
no subject
[glancing up at her]
[looking at Fou]
[HMMMMM]
We could also take a nap together.
[is that bonding]
no subject
[ Like, Ritsuka can conk out easily for sure, but. ]
no subject
[so. . . yes. in a manner of speaking! I mean, they still have separate beds, but Will is also assuming that napping together means they don't have to share a sleeping space]
As long as you don't snore--
no subject
[ So far so good! ]
no subject
You look like you could use the rest, anyway.
[his real reasons for wanting to nap are revealed. . .]
no subject
... Look, I'm still sleeping...
[ Come on now. ]
no subject
[and he does!! but—]
But you've been working hard while you're awake. It's okay to rest sometimes.
no subject
[ Easily, rather. ]
no subject
[and he starts making his way towards his makeshift camp, because where better to take a midday siesta than in the fragrant grass, bathed in warm sunlight??]
So you work this hard back home, too?
no subject
I do a lot of wrangling.
[ It's fine. She'll tag along, Fou now perched on her shoulder. ]
no subject
Can. . . I ask what you do back home? A lot of people here are students, but—
[as someone who never went to school he cannot relate]
no subject
[ She pauses, remembering what Anna had said. That Will's... really had bigger problems. ]
... Trying to save the world.
no subject
[he gives her a sideways glance]
That's. . . a big responsibility.
[he knows he is putting it mildly]
What are you saving it from?
