week four | dates

You worked up your courage and asked someone out on a date! Good job!

Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.

[and out of the jewelry shop they go! I'm saying the store was located in a nice high-end shopping market, because Cal can't stop me. in case Anna wants to buy him a better outfit]

Half a year. . . [. . . firm nod!] All right. After six months, I'll remember.

[to get her another pretty necklace. or maybe a bracelet? it'll still be too early for a ring, he thinks. . . that's okay. that one is going to be a few years down the line; he knows it]
makeine: (74 the favorite flower of those)

[ do they have the money for it. no. is this going to stop her from dressing him up like her own personal ken doll. also no.

anna's keeping her eye out for any interesting menswear shops she wants to check out anyway. maybe the crew'll pity her and her fashionless boyfriend and grant her enough for an outfit. ]

... Your six months are gonna be shorter than mine, you know.

[ damn. their relationship's first hurdle is anniversary dates. ]

[a beat]

[he has to think about this. . .]

Are there thirty days in your months, too?
makeine: (14 into something fun)

[personal profile] makeine 2024-12-06 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ uh ]

... On average. It's about half 'n half on if it's thirty or thirty-one, I guess, except there's twenty-eight in February unless it's a leap year, and then it's twenty-nine...

[personal profile] willandaway 2024-12-06 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
[the fuck is leap year]

That sounds confusing. . . how do you remember which months have thirty days and which have thirty-one?

[DUMB!! YOUR SILLY 7-DAY WEEK CALENDAR SYSTEM IS FLAWED!!]

Every month has 30 days, or six weeks. December has seven weeks, and the last five are Idlesweek. The holiday I told you about.

In total, that's 365 days per year.
makeine: (03 i'm not interested in fakes)

[personal profile] makeine 2024-12-06 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ oh my fucking god ]

You just shove your extra days into the last month?! We have the same amount of days in the year, except on leap years when we have 366.

[ is that it???????? hello????????? ]

Ugh! Okay, so, there's like, some saying to remember the months that do! Gimme a sec...

[ ... what was it... ]

Thirty days has... September, April, June, and November; all the rest have thirty-one. February's twenty-eight -- the leap year, which comes every four, gives it one day more. Or something like that.

[. . . squints at her]

I still don't get it. What's the point of having it so inconsistent?

[whoever made this calendar just made it way too complicated]
makeine: (100 don't forget that what)

[personal profile] makeine 2024-12-06 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno. Something about how the sun travels or whatever.

[ not a damn clue. but it makes it tough...

... heheh. ]

Let's just go by yours. Mine takes too long.

[a nod at that]

I can't help but agree.

[ she'll do the math later on where it lands then but does it matter when like three people she knows are from twenty years ago,

anna swings their hands a bit as they continue on regardless... it won't matter as much when she. can't think about that it's too far in the future and

... and...

...

this store looks promising. there's more of a handsome look to them, which suits anna just fine considering her own style, so it'll be nice to match without him going full noble-likeness... ]

Go get measured for me. First rule of fashion is that you have something that fits.

[personal profile] willandaway 2024-12-07 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[get measured??? what????]

I've. . . never had my measurements taken before?

[this is NOBLE PEOPLE shit, his commoner roots are showing again]
makeine: (81 especially at those times)

[personal profile] makeine 2024-12-07 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Most men haven't. Women get them all the time.

[ especially growing young women... she'll nudge him to an associate. ]

Don't be shy. Just be ready to strip off a bit.
willandaway: (pic#17513484)

[personal profile] willandaway 2024-12-07 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)

I don't know how I'm not supposed to be shy about stripping in public.

[HE SAYS. . . but his tone is a bit playful, amidst all of the obvious nerves]
makeine: (67 i only wanna lay my eyes)

[personal profile] makeine 2024-12-07 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
They'll take you to the back.

[ or at least a different room-- she's smacking his back and going to look at styles she'd think suit him, have fun with your noble pursuits, shyguy. even if that's the last word she'd ever use for him anyway. ]
willandaway: (pic#17513327)

[personal profile] willandaway 2024-12-07 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[a small but short exhale, and he BRAVELY approaches an attendant, who quickly ushers him in the back to do the measuring thing. he shoots Anna one last glance as he goes]

[rip Will, the world knew him well]
