[ it's hard for Steve to be particularly excited about going on any dates, the way things are looking, but he might as well try his best. It's not Kat's fault that he keeps being the third wheel. She's nice! And he's got to be a better date than Akechi, at least, right...? ]

[It's time to find out whether Steve or Akechi is the more competitive gamer... I see.

The lax atmosphere of the street fair suits Kat's demeanor, and the myriad stands and stalls already have her attention pinballing in excitement, dazzled by the lights.

She's distracted by the scents of several delicious foods wafting from the other side of the midway (fried dough... ice cream... popcorn... aaaaa...), but when Steve pulls up to the shooting game, she turns around in curiosity.

(That's right... he said he was really good with a pistol, didn't he?)]

I love them! They're so cute!

he may be feeling down about his luck in love, but he can never resist a chance to show off. He flashes her a grin. ]

Pick out your favorite, then, 'cause I'm gonna win it!

This must have something to do with being not a cop and not a criminal, huh? [Yes, she remembered that from their very first week in the house, even if she never got the full story about what exactly Steve does with his sharpshooting abilities.]

How about that one? [Kat points to a reasonably sized (though not Jumbo Grand Prize size) floppy bear that's wearing a birthday hat.] What do you think about him?

[ unfortunately, Steve is one of those gun guys. He glances at the big floppy bear, then rolls his shoulders. ]

What, not the grand prize? C'mon.

[ he's debating internally on whether or not to try and get the bigger prize, anyway -- but he should probably see how rigged the game is before he starts making grand claims. Luckily for Steve, he's on TV; they wouldn't let him get cheated! Probably. He picks up the provided air gun, gets a feel for it, then aims with both hands. And... it turns out he wasn't actually exaggerating. Those cans are getting obliterated (AKA knocked down.) ]

Oh! I mean... sure! [She just assumed it was part of his job, given how proud he is of it. But if he just likes doing it in his free time, that's fine, too!

The bigger bear that's the grand prize is pretty tempting... but someone's going to have to carry it all around the fair, right?]

Wow, Steve... you were right! You really are a crack shot.

[ he is just a baby with no job...... also he was in jail. kat thinks so highly of him. the compliment gets a grin out of him, tossed over his shoulder. ]

Damn straight! I got a lot of practice in before I came here.

[ but as the timer ticks down, he steps back, setting the gun down. Any more points, and he'd get the larger prize!! ]

Gimme that bear, [ he says to the person hosting the booth, pointing up at the one she picked out. ] Gotta keep a girl happy.
