Welcome to your fourth and final week, teens!

There aren’t many changes around the house today: it seems everyone is dialed in on what needs to be done and the upcoming week. Everything that was on the fritz last week is now back to normal, aside from the Dress Up Your Blorbo curse. You can still do that at will.

Anyway, it's fine that all seems quiet.

[It is his absolute favorite thing to do, aside from performing.

So it is entirely big brotherly the way that he gently rests his hands over hers so that he can play the first couple of notes with her, slowly but surely, one by one.]

These are your first five notes. I'll play them with you twice, and then you can try on your own, alright?

[ so simple... anna's an only child, so this is as close to a sibling as she's getting, and it's clear she doesn't mind it at all. ]

Doesn't seem so hard... Okay.

[ she'll play them with him when he starts, the sound a little clunky in her inexperience of how to make notes pretty with different pressures, but... she really is pleased as can be when his hands lifts off hers and she continues with the five notes. ]

I like singing too, actually. If I can do both at the same time... I'll be a real killer on stage. A total triple threat with acting under my belt.

[ even though none of them are really her career path in life, ]

[And as he shows her the next set of notes, he hums a little, thoughtful.]

You certainly would be. [Like Nene, to an extent, even though Nene doesn't play any instruments. He wonders, briefly, if Sakurako does.] Is that what you would like to do, though? Perform on stage?

[Somehow, even though she's clearly had fun with it, it doesn't really feel like it.]

Mm-mm. [ with a shake of her head. ] I'm okay with just being a housewife. I've always wanted to get married, ever since I was a little girl.

[ but stuff like this is fun, carefully playing the next set of notes and then stringing the two together. a little messed up, but she works it out eventually. ]

I know it's not glamorous or anything... but as long as I'm with someone I love, I'm fine with it.

[ in a surprising turn of events. anna doesn't need a lot, really. a steady supply of food and love. like a plant. ]

[... Hm? He just tilts his head at that, distracted from the piano for the moment.]

What do you mean "just" being a housewife? [What do you mean it isn't glamorous!!] I think having and loving a family is an incredible thing to want to do with your life. Whatever size or shape that family might take.

[ wearily. ]

I'm surrounded by people, right now, who have waaaaaaaay bigger dreams and wants than that. "Just" a housewife isn't anything bad and I'll punch anyone who scoffs at it, but you gotta admit, we're a pair of normal peas in this pod.

[Hmph!]

Perhaps our dreams do not involve world-saving or monster fighting, but I consider them just as noteworthy and life-changing as any other dream here.

After all, having a dream that you're striving for is incredible in and of itself!

[the ego on this boy tho]

[ okay but consider his ego is like, the best thing in the whole world, his blind confidence really does numbers, ]

Yeah, I can see why you're the leader of your troupe. I bet you'd drag 'em through hell and highwater -- in a good way, because they want and need you to, not because you're forcing them or anything.

Our dreams are like, the nice breaks everyone else needs. I think that's pretty important too.

Ha ha ha! Well, of course!

[... But. The way she phrased it manages to hit that little part of his brain that is actually not connected to his ego.]

... Still, that we are able to move forward and make the progress we have is thanks to all of them. Their skills, the way they've grown and all of their hard work... I owe a lot to them for all of it.

Yeah, they've really worked things out. Kinda nice just to sit back at this point. Are you relaxing a little more now that Nene-chan's here to help?

Well... it is good to see her again, that's for sure, but...

[This sort of thing really isn't Nene's bag, and he does feel bad she got saddled with it.]

... it is a shame she ended up having to help cover my responsibilities like this. She has better things to be doing with her time.

Oh, it's only a week! I'm sure she'll end up appreciating the people she's met and stories she's heard here -- and make your next production all the more successful, too.

[He just takes his responsibilities very seriously but it's fine that's not star-like to dwell on so.

Instead, he shows her the next few notes.]

Once you have all of these together, you can repeat again, and the tune should sound familiar.

[ help. tsukasa, you're doing so good.

but she does as she's been doing, playing the chord a few times before putting it all together... oooh. ooh!!!!!!!! ]

Twinkle, twinkle, little star...♪

[Ooohhhh!!!

Tsukasa is just as excited. You'd think it's the first time he's heard someone play twinkle twinkle little star. And, quietly:]

Now, the same notes but in reverse.

[And, when she does, he'll sing too:]

How I wonder what you are... ♪

[ !!!!!!!

she'll continue on, playing and singing both: ]

Up above the world so high... ♪

[He seems content to leave the playing to her now that she's gotten the hang of the handful of simple notes that make up the song, instead picking up where she leaves off:]

Like a diamond in the sky... ♪

[They may as well wrap up the verse, after all, right?]

[ right!!! tsukasa's got it!!!! she'll hold the note on "star" a little longer, too... ]

Twinkle, twinkle, little star... ♪

[ ... before she continues playing as he'd instructed before.

bring it home, captain!!!!!!!! ]

[And bring it home he will, of course, with a flourish (performer that he is):]

How I wonder what you are! ♪

[And, as the last note trails off:]

That was excellent!

[ ooooh!!!!! that felt so good!!!!! ]

We're a perfect duo as always, Tsukasa-kun! [ be it for a scene or... this????

she's clapping her hands... wow. ] Thanks for teaching me a little, though. I'm gonna knock that impassive smile off Nukumizu-kun's dumb plain face with this for sure.

We certainly are!

He tilts his head at that, curious.]

Nukumizu? A friend of yours? ["Dumb, plain face"... that's so mean]

[ okay but if tsukasa saw him he'd agree that's prime mob a material. ]

Yeah. He's stupid, hopeless, a total dunce who reads a lot but can't read between the lines, and doesn't know how to treat a girl the way she wants to be treated without being told...

[ her voice trails off, but nothing truly annoyed in her tone -- more that kind of annoyed where you complain about a friend, albeit with some amount of affection. because nukumizu is an idiot, he is stupid, hopeless, a total dunce and dense as bricks...

... but, at the same time-- ]

He's a good guy, though. Nukumizu-kun treats me and the other girls like we're just friends -- which we are, before you get any ideas -- so he's always looking out for us, even if it's totally clear he thinks it's a pain sometimes, and he's the one that worries, rushes forth, and tries to do whatever he can to make sure we smile. Even if it's totally unnecessary sometimes. Honestly, he's pretty much our school's best kept secret.

[I hate that this is true.]

I see...

He sounds like he's a very good friend to you. And that you're a good friend to him in return.

[He smiles brightly at that.]

That's wonderful! It truly is nice to hear more about your life, as... something a little more understandable to me.
