Welcome to your fourth and final week, teens!

There aren’t many changes around the house today: it seems everyone is dialed in on what needs to be done and the upcoming week. Everything that was on the fritz last week is now back to normal, aside from the Dress Up Your Blorbo curse. You can still do that at will.

Anyway, it's fine that all seems quiet.

[ It doesn't feel great. And when Anna returns to herself, clutching Patxi's doll, Ritsuka's expression is very quietly heartbroken.

She doesn't cry, though, kneeling down beside Anna to pull her into a hug. ]

[ but she should be able to. she should still be able to. anna turns into ritsuka and holds patxi tightly, burying her face into the other girl's shoulder.

they must hate her. no wonder the air was so weird here -- she thinks back to josuke's words about someone being not who he thought they were and shakes her head. ritsuka must've thought everyone here might hate her, too. but anna can't hate her no more than she can asa. ]

You... need like, a longer vacation.

I don't think there's a vacation long enough.

[ With a tired smile, resting a hand against the back of Anna's head. This wasn't really ideal. It wasn't like she wanted anyone to have to see that, especially someone who was still living a normal life. Anna had accepted her so simply, just because Ritsuka had said she was doing what she had to, not what she wanted to.

But seeing that must have... ]

... I'm sorry. If I'd known, I would have stopped you. A lot of my memories aren't really... that great, in the past few years.

[ she shakes her head again, this time in response to her question. ritsuka's kind, but-- ]

I don't wanna be in the dark. [ even if it's easier. ] How old were you? When... all this started?

I was sixteen when I got roped into helping Chaldea. When the earth got bleached into nothingness and I met Patxi...

[ ... wow. so it hasn't been that long since she started. not at all. anna lifts her head, resting it against ritsuka's. ]

Really coming to terms that Tsukasa-kun and I are like. The normal ones here.

[ she doesn't know about hatsune miku ]

[ On the heels of a slightly breathless laugh that isn't even humorous. ]

Sorry about that. I wish I could say I was one of you.

Well, you were once. You just aren't now.

[ which is fine. she hugs ritsuka, cuddling her. ]

But... when you come to visit, you'll be just another girl. It'll be fun walking around Japan again, don't you think?

[ It's hard, when you know you'll never be the same again.

But she appreciates the offer more than she could ever say, leaning into the hug with a nod. And-- ]

My favorite color is orange.

[ anna giggles, returning the lean with her own. ]

I've been pretty into white lately myself. Orange suits you. It's a color that makes people smile.

I just made you cry.

Okay? And? One time compared to the dozen others? If that was all it took for me to renounce my good opinion of you, Will-kun'd be in the ground. Don't tell Sanji-kun.

I'm surprised Sanji didn't just hear you cry from rooms away, with how attentive he can be.

[ She won't tell Sanji. ]

[ thank god. she cried in front of him once over will during their date that could've been it. now she just complains about how much she loves him ]

The point is, Ritsuka-chan, that unless you really, really want me to stay away from you, then I won't. I can't. I know when Mii-chan says it she doesn't mean it because she's dishonest, but friends stick with friends -- and bust their balls when they need to. So yes, orange suits you just fine.

[ everyone....... in this house seems like they need a Normal Girl to just tell it to them straight. her role is a niche but necessary one, as a side character turned main. they're alike in that. ]
