[ Ryuji is wearing a santa hat because, of course. He's all about the party. Even if the Christmas music is already starting to be... grating. Oh well! ]

Uh, I think so! Cake and lights and loud music? Hella Christmas, to be honest.

[ He's going to lead them to an empty table then, lifting a hand to flag down a waiter. ]

Getting stood up for a date, getting dumped in front of all the other happy couples on Christmas... hehe, there's such a variety.

Uhm, kinda? I don't know anything about demons and you seem pretty human to me. So, wasn't sure how it worked.

[ He's going to look over the drink menu instead of looking at Minami, a little worried he offended him by the question. ]

he had picked up one of the decorations on the table, a little glass santa to look at it but at ryuji's words he stills. and then pop goes ol' saint nick, shattering into many colorful red and white pieces of glass.

Take that back. [ his voice is far lower than anything ryuji has heard from him before. ]

[ asdjskghdkjghs??? He didn't expect this sort of reaction, his head snaps up when the santa pops into a bunch of tiny pieces and he winces.

Oh no. Oh noooo!!! This was supposed to be a bonding activity and he fucked it up. ]

[ his glare is absolutely murderous, his eyes an unnatural red, but he doesn't move to snap the neck of the nearest person, so. ]

Humans are obsessed with making everything like them. It's disgusting. [ it doesn't look like he's going to be appeased that easily, or at least so blatantly. ]

[ That's a fair and valid response. Ryuji is feeling less like he's going to get stabbed though so he kind of breathes a sigh of relief. ]

Augh fine, whatever. [ he brushes off the remains of the glass santa onto the floor, because he's a heathen. they have a menu on their table that he should definitely be looking at, but a giant gingerbread house in their periphery catches his eye first. ]

Can you get one of those to eat?

[ A slow blink at Minami's change in demeanor and then more relief fills him as he changes the subject. That's... well, now he knows what not to say.

He looks between Minami, the gingerbread house, and then back at the menu at his question, making a pleased noise as he spots it on the menu. ]

You can! It's a challenge, eat it all and the whole meal's free. Do ya think you can do it?

Huh? Really? Yay!!! [ crisis completely averted, there's only sweets now. ]

Of course I can. You should get something for yourself if you want to eat anything.

Oh!! Yeah, okay. I want the peppermint hot chocolate. And uhm, the eggnog cheesecake.

— wait, there's also omurice on this menu? What the hell?

[ There is a high chance he orders omurice as well as the sweet stuff they're ordering. ]

he'll also order a super decadent hot chocolate with way too many marshmallows and sprinkles. ]

[ He considers it but, well, he can have omurice at any time, can't he? He looks for things he hasn't gotten before. ]

Imma get the Christmas spaghetti too. I dunno what makes it a Christmas spaghetti but sure, why not, right?

[ And so when the waiter comes over, he'll order what he wants and looks to Minami to let him order his meal too. ]
