week three | dates
You worked up your courage and asked someone out on a date! Good job!
Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.

I do not need calming. Do not project your foolish problems onto me. [ Pointing angrily at the capybara. ] As for you, foul creature: cease your staring!

[ The capybara goes back to docile munching. While staring past her, I guess. ]

Lowers her hand. ]
She told you, did she?
no subject
[ So. Yeah. ]

[ Her Oscar worthy acting skills... ]
My name is War Devil. For the remainder of this exercise, you may call me "Yoru". [ Since "War Devil" is apparently too ~weird and awkward~ to use for SOME PEOPLE, yes she's still salty about you insulting her name, Asa. ]
no subject
[ She's just going to roll with it. ]
Is it going to be you for the rest of the time here? Like this week and the next?
no subject
Doubtful. I'm not interested in this "love" you humans all care so much about. [ Not now that she can't use it to make weapons out of people here. ] I'll let her back once she's learned her lesson. She knew the consequences of telling anyone about me.
[ Thank god "two girls at a petting zoo" isn't great TV on the surface, and the camera crew all seem distracted by the cute animals. It's giving them a moment of privacy. ]

Um, something about me being in danger?
[ Was that it-- ]
no subject
... And yet, for whatever reason, she deemed you worthy of that risk. I struggle to understand why. You certainly aren't much to look at, nor do you seem particularly powerful.
no subject
[ Well, thanks for not threatening her life. That's so rare! ]
no subject
With more petulance than Asa herself has ever shown: ] Obviously not, girl. But don't bore me with a repeat of your conversation. I'll ask Asa about it later.
[ weren't you going to kill her though ]
no subject
Okay, then. I guess if nothing else, I can say I've met a war devil now. That's a first for me.
[ And Asa is coming back so all is well!! ]
no subject
... You seem rather unfazed by all of this. Are you by any chance brain damaged? [ Why aren't you more intimidated by her... she's offended... ]
no subject
She's crouching to let a goat clip-clop into her lap. ]
I've heard that before, but no. I'm just used to a bunch of insane things happening to me and if the embodiment of fairy tales exists, the epitome of war isn't that far off to be able to assume that's a thing in the first place. Kind of like the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
I'm a little surprised you're in a human body, though. And one probably not involved in a war in the first place?
no subject
[ The Four Horsemen, she means. Wow, this must be Ritsuka's first ever experience with traditionally male figures actually being women... what a shock to the system... ]
My goals require a human body. I only kept her mind alive to better blend in with your society. [ She very much doesn't mention the part where she was near death herself, being in just as desperate a situation as Asa was. ] In all likelihood, she came here seeking a way to remove me. She's much like this creature — arrogant without any justification.
[ Speaking of: she's going to try and get hold of the capybara's head, but it keeps turning and blocking her with its giant ass. Behold the mighty War Devil, outwitted by a giant rodent. ]
no subject
I think people do kind of have a right to want to have their bodies to themselves without it being arrogant. And the capybara just... wants to eat?
[ It looks like it's winning, too. ]
no subject
[ And threatening to end it a dozen times since, but let's not focus on that part.
Now that she knows the name of her nemesis, she focuses harder on getting the upper hand, finally managing to grab hold of some neck fur. It's like scruffing a cat, if the cat was three feet long and weighed as much as a human — the noise it makes sounds almost like it's laughing at her attempts at holding it still. ]
Capybara sword. [ Nothing happens, because we aren't killing cute animals. Yoru makes a disgusted face and lets go, stomping her foot in frustration. ] Worthless. Everything here is worthless!
no subject
[ HE'S SO UNBOTHERED, THOUGH. ]
no subject
I can turn what's mine into weapons. It should have worked on such an insignificant creature... clearly, some outside force is at play here. [ or maybe the capybara is just more powerful than you ever think about that ]
no subject
no subject
[ ... She's starting to like it a little. Just a little. ]
no subject
It's... definitely inspirational.

[ The smile on her — Asa's — face is both deeply unpleasant and jarringly out of place, belonging to something far older, more malevolent than a teenage girl. ]
