[It's absolutely criminal to dangle the mental image of Akechi playing DDR in front of everyone without delivering on it...]

Oh, I see... well, I do like winning, and I'd love to have prizes to bring home... but this might be our only chance to go out to an arcade. [She can see the point of being strategic to get a big reward, but at a certain point... the fun takes second place, right? Kat spins around to get a good look at the different machines surrounding them. There's a little bit of everything.]

Why don't we try playing them all? [Or as many as they can, anyway... They can use his strategy with the big-bucks games and just enjoy the rest of them. She also kind of wants to see him dance now that the idea has been presented to her.]

Winning is having fun. If you're not looking to win that what's the point? Regardless, he folds his arms over his chest as he listens.]

All of them?

[Where Will had hints of Joker he finds that Kat also holds hints of someone else he knows. Yoshizawa... Where your natural instinct is to push them to the ground but find yourself unable to so you just have to linger in their positive and go-getting presence.]

We might as well! [All of them! Doesn't he want to enjoy his time being a normal teenager while they have it? She trots a couple of feet ahead, going up on her toes to look for a particular machine...without really knowing exactly what she's looking for.]

You said something about sky-ball? Why don't we start with that one!

[It was all part of his strategic min-maxing strategy, but since he brought it up directly by name, Kat can only assume that it's something he likes playing, too.]

[Ski-ball... but he doesn't correct her and instead nods towards the back where there is three or four waiting for them. And then starts to leads the way.]

Do you know how to play? [He slows, keeping his steps in time with hers so they're making their way together.] You roll the balls into the highest point openings. There's a high rim around the hole so the balls can bounce off. It takes skill and accuracy thus it's worth so many tickets.

[He flexes his fingers as he pats his pockets for the coins they were given before coming.]

I'll be counting on you to score high.

You're playing too, right? You gotta show me how it's done, but I'll catch up quickly!

[She glances at him over her shoulder. Not only is he the expert (and will probably score more points), but they're both on this date to try and enjoy themselves.

Kat doesn't necessarily possess an inhuman amount of strength - though the force behind her kicks is something else, especially when powered by gravity... but she's not a light throw, either. A few of those balls are definitely bouncing off the lip before she gets the hang of their weight.]

Of course. We have to score as many tickets as possible.

[Ski-ball will take a practice round to get used to the weight of the balls and how they need to be rolled. Similar to his bowling date with Mark, you just get into a rhythm. In time the balls find their way into the 1000 point slot. And the score and the tickets begin to rack up.

With the way her balls are bouncing off the lip it really was only a matter of time before she did get the hang of it, being so close already.

Akechi is truly in his element when he's competing and he tosses her a glance as they roll their balls into the holes.]

You're not too bad.

Ah, you really do like winning...!

[He's the expert here, but Kat would still like to impress him by showing him just how quickly she can catch up to his score. There's a sizable gap between them - albeit not a huge one.

(Maybe I can distract him...? But that would be playing dirty! He'd either hate that or think I was super smart for it...)]

I told you I was a fast learner! Didn't you believe me? [Thunk sinks the ball into the upper left corner.]

I do enjoy, yes.

[More than anything. The thrill of competition and overcoming great adversaries. Be the task physical, intellectual and even the occasional luck based challenge. He appreciates when people can keep up or have a desire to rise to the challenge.]

I didn't not believe you. [He glances her way and then at her score and in doing so his ball hits the wrong opening. He clicks his tongue and returns his focus to his own game and score.] I didn't expect you to be subtly devious.

[Distracting him? A good play but it won't happen again, Kat.]

Hehe, I have no idea what you're talking about!

[She says it innocently enough, but Kat's hidden gremlin side has definitely been exposed now.

(This would be so much easier if I used my powers... but I won't!)

Despite her little playful distraction, Kat plays fairly until the end of the game. Even with beginner's luck and her fast uptake, there's no way she can beat his score on the first go around. Luckily, ski-ball is really only a competition against the machine and yourself... it's not like they'll walk out of here with fewer tickets.]
