week three | dates
You worked up your courage and asked someone out on a date! Good job!
Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.

dorothea & mark
Welcome to painting class!
Time to learn in a nice, soothing environment where everyone is very encouraging and helpful. There's no wrong painting, just having fun!
Highlights:
- They have themes if you want, but you're welcome to just be creative
- It's all about the vibes

Mark's looking down at the assortment of paints in between them. He's got his own palette, which is cool — like a professional, it almost feels like! — but aside from... squeezing some paints onto it, he guesses? he isn't sure where to really begin.
So he looks over at Dorothea, trying to gauge if she knows how to start. ]
I think the last time I painted was like, grade school. [ Said with a little self-deprecating laugh. ] Have you ever done this before?

The best I’ve got is having watched classmates do some painting. [She laughs too.] Performance has always been my art of choice.
[She picks up her brush, glancing at the instructor’s demonstration for a moment before turning back to Mark.]
We’ll just have to give it our best attempt.

[ Hmm, what colour does he want to really start with... blue. He's going for blue, dipping into it with a large brush to really start filling up the canvas.
Turning back to Dorothea: ] Performance arts, huh? I think there are some things where you can watch people paint, but I'm guessing that's not the kind of performance you meant.

No, certainly not. [Very slight pause as she attempts the beginnings of something vaguely tree-shaped.] I was an opera diva back home. Singing and acting on stage to the applause of many.
[Boasting! But it's true, so it's fine of course.]

An opera diva...! [ There's a hushed awe to his voice as he misses his canvas on his next stroke, hitting the easel instead. Whoops. ] I've never been to an opera before... or really tried singing. And you do it in front of so many people... You must be so, so good at it.
[ He's going out with a professional performer... wow. Never would he have ever thought...! ]

[She finishes up one cute little tree, a coy little smile alight on her lips. Mark’s awed response is one she’s garnered many times before, but it does still please her to know that people admire her skill.]
I got into it when I was rather young, and before I knew it, I had become quite the star. If you appreciate music and stirring emotional tales, you absolutely must find time to attend one. They’re always quite beautiful.

Not the point. Mark dips his brush in some water to clean it off, swirling it around before he goes for the white paint. Maybe it's time to try a cloud...
He looks back at her after a few swipes at it. The beauty of clouds is that they can look like anything. Anyway. Are they as beautiful as you is on the tip of his tongue, but that feels. he's not going to say that, ]
... I feel like the first time I hear one, it should be from you. Since you're the star, right? It'd be weird to hear someone else singing first.

Well… Sanji has been suggesting that I give a small performance of a song or two back at the house.
[She watches his artful swipes with the white paint for a moment, before looking over to try to catch his gaze.]
Perhaps I will give it a go. I’d be happy to give you your first little taste of opera.
