[At least, compared to the graveyard she had a picnic in not too long ago. That said, it's rather hard to tell just how frightening any given haunted house will be until one treads through it — but can anything compare to the actual haunted house that is Addams Manor?

Nope. Being in Salem with the puritanical zombies was worse.

If you say so. In which case, you'll have to tell me about it sometime. I know a thing or two about innocents being accused of witchcraft, too.

No, through the visions of my ancestor, Goody Addams. She was blessed with psychic visions, much like myself [casually dropping this detail], but wrongly persecuted as being wicked for it.

They tried to burn her alive.

"Tried", huh?

[ Honestly, good for her. ]

Did she manage to get away?

[ohwoe]

Oh, yes. "Tried." An Addams is not dispatched so easily, you know.

[They remain very hard to kill.]

She got away and managed to achieve her revenge. This was something that I learned only recently, though, because of the events at my own academy last semester.

[Time to walk! There doesn't seem to be much in the foyer other than some pretty impressive spooky decor, which leads to a long corridor with deep shadows and flickering lights. At the end, the doors to an overlarge elevator are lit in crimson red lighting.]

Good for her! [ Honestly, yeah. ]

... And I guess our next stop is that elevator.

[Down the hall they go! The elevator awaits. But Ritsuka will not escape the main reason why Wednesday wanted to go on this outing:]

[Stopping at the elevator doors, she mashes the call button with a finger — once, but fiercely. She might not even have to, given that this is all a scripted thing, but while they wait, Wednesday fixes her look on Ritsuka.]

I understand there was some contention about what you have to sacrifice to save your world. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't call you a "monster" for it, Ritsuka. For what it's worth.

[And she's glad there are others, too, who would agree. Good on Lessing.]

[ She just kind of leans against Wednesday, releasing a heavy sigh. ]

Considering what I did, I kind of feel like I don't deserve to be comforted about it, but... I'm really glad that's how you feel.

[ohwoe]

[She sways in her direction, a little not-quite-shoulder-bump, more of a jostle, vaguely playful yet acknowledging.]

That's the very reason why you aren't a monster. A monster would feel no remorse or conflict over the position you must've been put in to make a decision like that.

[She can understand why others would be upset — the destruction of worlds is a horrible thing (once again, not the kind of horrible she likes), and certainly not ideal. Not to the kind-hearted who'd wish to save everyone, instead, which this cast feels full of. Bright idealists, maybe; the world so very black and white.]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming it's either your world or theirs. I bet most here would make the same choice as you, given no other alternative, even if they don't realize it.

That's exactly it. So I don't blame Josuke for thinking I'm a threat.

... That's also why I didn't want anyone to go back with me. I don't want them to have to go through something like that. Especially if they wouldn't ever be in a position like that anyway.

[ It's bad enough to have done it five times over. ]

[She cannot imagine what it's like. As strange as her own life is compared to many others, she's never... been in that position.

That said, her mind hasn't been changed about one thing in particular:]

[ She sighs, with a huff. ]

Josuke and I are trying to figure out a way to ensure the people in the last Lostbelt will survive. So if that works, then yeah.

[ But the elevator doors are opening now. ]

[ohwoe]

And if it doesn't? Because there's a chance it won't?

[Her realism (cynicism) always comes out on top. Still, she steps into the elevator. There's a smiling elevator operator there, seated next to a lever. He beckons them in further with a greeting, telling them to sit down on the opposite little bench nearby.]

I'll be there.

That's a lot of people who'd be dying.

[ Like. A Lot.

But she also sits down and the elevator gets going! ]

[It whirrs as it starts heading upwards, lights flickering spookily. Wednesday merely sits and folds her hands in her lap.]

It's not ideal. It's not what I would wish for you.
