week three | dates
You worked up your courage and asked someone out on a date! Good job!
Now you have to hope the producers are kind re: where they send you.

[The difference between country living and city is a bit staggering sometimes.]
My school was very study oriented and if I wasn't busy I did cram school after classes ended.
[Nerd behavior.]
I really don't know anything about arts and crafts other than it's messy. So lead the way towards something interesting. I don't have a strong opinion...
[But Aya does. The bottles where you add different color sand. It makes the brain go brrrrrrrr]

Hmm... this looks kind of fun.
[ A little childish, maybe, but better than a paper craft he'd have to throw away. Maybe he can give it to his mom. It won't be too messy, like Akechi seems to be worried about either; any sand that spills, he's happy to clean up with Crazy Diamond. ]
We'll be able to keep this neat. [ He says, thinking Akechi will pick up his drift. ] Since I'm sure you don't wanna lug one around, let's just work on the same one, and I'll carry it.
[ a beat. ]
Unless there are things you'd want to take as a souvenir?
[ Maybe he wants a local artisan watch, he doesn't know... ]

Yeah... Or we could give them to one of the girls, or something.
[He has no use for this and no one back home to give it to. No real place to put it in his barren little apartment. But one of the ladies here might enjoy it. A friendly gesture or some shit.]

[ He brightens up a little talking about her; Kat is probably the sweetest person here, and they get on great. She'd been so excited about the headband, he can easily see her liking an interesting little trinket like this. None of the other girls strike him as especially likely to like it. ]
For a second, I thought about giving it to my mom if it had nowhere else to go, but she'd probably just say I was cluttering up the house. I like your plan better.
[ With Akechi on bottle duty, he starts dragging the different tubs of paint over, so that they can get to work on a color scheme. ]

[He asks it casually. She's probably one of the only girls he'd give anything to. And, to be fair, he just hasn't interacted enough with Dorothea but she hasn't done any wrong. And he's bash both Anna and Asa over the head with it so... Kat is the best choice, next to Ritsuka but he won't bring up that particular one near Josuke. He's been listening, more or less, and minding his fucking business with that particular breed of conflict.
As he's looking through the glass bottles he finds one that's in the shape of a cat head. He pushes it forward.]
Then this one will do...

[ Which he says casually, also. His grin turns lazy as Akechi pitches forward the cat bottle, which he careful picks up and turns in his hands, trying to imagine what colors they should fill it with. Something spacey, maybe? Like gravity... he picks a dark colored sand first, then starts fitting different funnels into the top of the bottle.
And Akechi's right, he slips past any potential space for Ritsuka to be brought up, already speeding right along before they have a chance to talk about the carnival haul. ]
Why, you think there's someone else who would want it?
no subject
[They're on the same page as far as a galaxy theme. Seems very Kat, in his opinion.]
No... She seems like she's the only one who would like something like this. [He pushes forward some colored sands that they should use. Dark blues and purples.] Not a bad thing... Even if this is a kid thing there's people that like Featherman at all ages, right? Same thing... more or less.
no subject
Nah, it's not a bad thing at all. I think it's good... no point in taking ourselves too seriously all the time.
[ Kat has retained a sense of whimsy despite her amnesia and everything else. Josuke admires that resilience, and honestly, it's cute that she likes things like this. Makes her easy to get gifts for. ]
There's not anything like that that you like? Like a comic or some other kid thing.
no subject
[Everyone has heard of Featherman. Right Josuke? Right. Surely.
He watches Josuke pour the sand in, resting his chin on his hands. It's a bit mesmerizing. Soothing, in a weird way.]
What sort of kid thing are you into?
no subject
[ He might not know exactly what Featherman is, but it's pretty obvious given the name. It's gotta be Sentai, or something like that.
After putting down a nice layer of purple, he starts fiddling with a smaller funnel for the white specks. ]
As for me, well... I'm really into Prince, the musician. Putting his posters on my walls and stuff, that kind of thing. He's just so sexy and cool. [ And being a fan like that past the point of listening casually is not always seen as the most mature thing to do. But he doesn't care. ] I've been cutting up fashion magazines since I was little, too.
