Kat and Lessing are going to be swept away to enjoy... a magic show!

The show is held at a proper theater and everything, up on stage--and they have great seats to enjoy it!

Highlights:

- The magician is very good!
- At some point, one of them might be called up to participate in the show
- They might be sawed in half

[ Well no one has been called up yet regardless of if they got the good assistant (Kat) or comically serious assistant (Lessing) route. For now they're still in the crowds, having watched a few acts, with Lessing frowning more and more thoughtfully as the go. ]

I assumed this was going to be some kind of Arts performance. I guess not...

[ Arts as in the word used for magic in his world, though without that context that he definitely didn't provide, it sounds like Lessing was especially confused about what was meant to be happening in this theater. ]

[Because Kat hasn't heard Lessing refer to Arts in the context he's familiar with just yet, his meaning is, of course, lost on her at first.]

Welllll... [she tries helpfully, her voice lowered in an attempt to not be distracting.] They do say performance is a kind of art form! [She nudges him a little bit.] They're pretty good, aren't they?

[Kat isn't oblivious enough not to know that magicians' tricks are...well, tricks. But she's still taking it all in with a sense of wonder and excitement, not making any attempts to puzzle out the methods behind the magic or anything like that just yet.]

[ Those kind of arts obviously exist in his world too, and while Lessing looks confused for a half a second, he does seem to quickly realize where the misunderstanding comes from. Maybe he'll correct her after the performance, maybe not. It's not like his world's terminology is all that important. He got told he was being a snoozefest by talking about it once already.

He will frown as he tips his head slightly to the side while watching the magician on stage. ]

I can ignore a lot of the misdirection, but his slight of hand is still pretty impressive.

[ Tragically, Lessing is not on board with Kat on this one. He is very much looking for the tricks. ]
