Welcome to week two, Teens Who Are Definitely Searching for Love!

Hopefully everyone got a lot of rest over the weekend, and are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the upcoming week, because there are a few things of interest this week.

But first, some changes of note in the house!

First: there is a giant rectangular box on the living room table, addressed to Lessing. It is a care package. The only thing in it is his sword.

There is some Bauernbrot bread on the counter. Ask Lessing about that too.

There is now a hot tub near the pool. It’s large enough to seat about six teens comfortably, but you can get more in there if you really try for some reason.

Okay I think that’s everything. Additionally, Tsukasa is here early this week! He’s looking pretty perky, seemingly recovered from the Match Ceremony, and he’s got some interesting info to share with everyone.

[ the gut that's gonna be digesting minami's spit out lemon slice but that's fine ]

I just don't know if we'll be able to test it this week, since they both chose last week, unless we can work out the pairings tomorrow really carefully. And they were up for it.

[ She has very little faith in one of those things. ]

[This is why she's so reliable.]

I'm thinking about it. And I'm not sure . . . but do you think it could be you and Lessing?

[ Working harder is exactly what he needs to not do, so he just smiles and nods. He'll actually work easier, running with two people who don't have super speed, so... good! ]

I'm in Baltimore. Well, more like the suburbs, so I guess biking is a little easier there, but there's nowhere to really... go. [ A beat. ] It's right next to the capital, so I'm still in kind of a big city, and it can still be bombastic, just not the level of New York.

[makeine]

[ anna's got total faith in just one of those things too. ]

I think we'll be okay. I mean, we only got one last week, so maybe we'll get all but one, right? If not, me and Will-kun'll save your wishes.

[ With Sanji and Dorothea wrong, the chances of Ritsuka and Lessing being correct keep going up, at least in his opinion when looking at the other match ups. Josuke is trying to be analytical about the game, but it's starting to feel like he can't trust his instincts — at every turn thus far, it feels like he's been wrong. It's starting to make him question the choices he felt so nonchalant and sure about picking just yesterday. But if he thinks outside the box.... that opens the board to every person here, which is too overwhelming. Not to mention that in his heart of hearts, he's still a little hung up about the abruptness of his own no-match...

So, better to look at this all neutrally. Start broad, and go to the details... ]

I gotta agree — I don't think it's Minami and Will, or Steve and Akechi either. But I'd add Asa and Yanami to that list.

[ His brow creases. ]

It's possible they threw us a bone to keep us off track, but Yanami seems pretty sure her match is a guy. I think it's probably Maomao and Kat, or you and Lessing.

[ Actual shock, and it's not even offended... he's going to ignore the "that's really stretching it" comment. ]

[ There's a short pause, something thoughtful in which her eyes soften a bit--okay, back to pragmatic thinking. ]

We both have things to get back to and spending more time with him this week really helped me realize what a great person he is. I don't think it's out of the question, but I don't think a lot of people thought it was us and I'm not sure how he feels about it either. Entirely.

So it's... possible, I'd say?

I would. [ She admits easily. Her grudges aren't so easily gotten over unless you're Anna apparently. ] And if she doesn't, then...

[ "She really is an idiot", but she's said enough mean things about Kat today. Even if this one is actually true. ]

... You should go back out there before people come looking for you. I don't think I can deal with seeing anyone else right now.

Yeah, I'm pretty reluctant to put the ones who got selected semi-randomly as an actual pair. Which does narrow it down.

I'll just say I'm fine with going up for testing this, whatever options we end up with next week. I'm not fully confident here, but I think only a few of us are fully confident about our pair-ups in the first place.

[ she'll say it for her, and after a moment anna turns around to rest her head against asa's back.

just quietly, like she isn't going to listen to the request. but eventually she'll speak again, no room for argument in her tone. ]

I'm coming back as soon as we're done. We'll have a sleepover, and I'll tell you if anyone clocks Akechi-kun.

It'd help if the two of you sat together at this ceremony. At least, if you ask me...

[ It'll give them more constant data to go off of. He taps his temple. ]

If the match ups are more about two people who seem different but can bring out different sides of each other, kind of like Wednesday and Ryuji, I could see that for both you and Lessing, and Maomao and Kat. Though, Kat seemed to not think they were matched up...

[ He should ask her about that later. ]

I dunno. As far as the next thing to test, we'll have to see how the ceremony shakes out.

[ Case in point, he is going to pretend he did not hear Will say there's only five day weeks where he's from-- ]

Yeah, that's true. I think it's pretty cool we're all from such different places, anyway. This is the kind of gathering that's once-in-a-lifetime.

He definitely wants to help us figure this out, so I'll ask him if he'd be okay with picking me. [ Very romantic. ]

... If that's how it falls, though, what'll you do? Kat or Sanji, maybe?

[ If Josuke's up this week, Mark's a no-go. If they want to test her and Lessing, he can't pick her. ]

[ The faintest huff of laughter at that. Imperceptible, if not for the fact Anna is literally pressed against her right now. ]

Yeah. Thanks, Anna. [ And not just for the Akechi thing. ]

[ he's munching away happily now and also quiet while he does so, nice. ]

She will mow these down in a little bit. She shakes them appreciatively at Ritsuka, pulling her knees up and dangling her arm across them.]

He really surprised me this week. Thanks for checking in... and for taking over as leader, like you always do! You're really good at it.

[And Kat turns and gives him a bright smile. No need to ask who he's picking.]

What do you think about our other matches?

He kinda surprised me too. Looks like you made a better impression on him than we thought.

[ Especially after last week... ]

But thanks! I've got experience with keeping a bunch of different personalities in line, so if it comes in handy now, I'll take it.
