[ oh man. the pressure is on... he's struck by two things: one, it's weird to kiss someone when both of you have food in your mouths, and two, it's weird to kiss someone you literally just met. However, Steve is both competitive and teenaged - there's no backing out on this! Especially not when she's not backing down. After his brief moment of hesitation, he steels himself, gently lifting a hand to her cheek to make sure the kiss actually lands and even angling his head slightly.

And honestly, he's catching her off-guard because she didn't think he'd actually turn it into a kiss-kiss, and maybe she should have realized.

But that's his hand on her cheek and she is now a little too embarrassed to keep trying to look at him, so Ritsuka rests a hand on his shoulder to brace herself and does her best to act like this is very normal as she leans back a few seconds later.

So that's how the game works, although I think that was more like a tie.

does it count as winning if he's also trying to act like this is normal? He hasn't kissed many girls, and definitely never with food in his mouth (there's no way to make that suave), so he's a little clumsy, but surprisingly sweet for all his macho talk. His ears are a little pink when she pulls back, and his hand lingers until she clears her throat, at which point he drops it in a totally non-awkward way and visibly swallows his pocky. ]

Heh, yeah... I can see the appeal.
