[That answer used to be easy. It was revenge. That was the only thing that could matter.

And then it was to be free. Free from insane doctors trying to make him a puppet on a string for the happiness of someone else.

What could it possibly be now? He's back. Again. But at least this time there may be a real chance to fly the coop. He wasn't asking her questions about world travel for no reason. If he can use that wish and just go somewhere else and start a new life and put everything behind him... Good.

He's also tired. Hells is he tired. The leaps and bounds of time passing while his existence fades in and out is irritating and migraine inducing.]

Nothing, really. [His shoulders shrug a little. He's being unusually honest but he is less inclined to play a part in this particular moment.] If we win I may figure it out. There's no point if we don't.

I don't think it's a bad idea to start figuring it out as we go. We've got a few weeks, after all. And I think having a goal makes whatever victories we get feel even better.

There's a bunch of people here, that we never would have gotten to meet otherwise. So maybe your goal until you figure it out can be seeing what you can learn from them. It doesn't have to be all of them, but just as a thought.

[ She raises a finger. ]

Or, since you're allergic to friends, we just become informants and you can teach me detective stuff and I can tell you about traveling.

[This was almost eye rolling inducing. Almost. She has him in the second half of all that and he glances her way once she's done. Despite how much of his detective career was fabricated there were still some things he did on his own merits. He has his own skill sets and he knows how to use them. He got pretty far on his own up until he finally ran across Shido.

There are things he can teach... Though it's a weird thing for him, of all people, to think. It may very well be worth what she's offering.

His gaze is both appraising and scrutinizing before his lips quirk upward just slightly.]

[And he offers her a gloved hand so they can shake on it.]

[ Then she'll offer her hand with the Command Seals emblazoned on the back of her hand, grasping his hand for a firm shake. This is a different Akechi from before, but honestly, she kind of prefers this one. ]

Then I'll let you be for now. But Sanji's making cake, so at least try to nab some at some point, okay?

[He doesn't thank her. Though it's tempting to do so out of politeness sake. But also, it feels a little weird that someone came looking for him. It's probably to make sure that he remains on the level. No sabotage out of petty revenge for being wrong or anything like that. Please, he's not that mad... yet. Whatever the actual reason for her visit it feels like a decent enough deal was made. He'll see how it pans out in the weeks to come.]
