[ it's fine. i actually have never seen casablanca i just know it's a classic so the plot being like that was a surprise to me too. the ending doesn't give me any hope. ]

I wouldn't blame him for choosing his country though. She's his former lover, so they've got history between them... but she did leave him. I'd be hurt by that too.
